Agung Perdana
Founder and Composer
Agung Perdana is a musician, composer, and arranger with a background in ethnic or Indonesian music. I am interested in artistic innovation rooted in global social cultures, discovering the strengths and uniqueness of these cultures, and developing them into new forms that inspire new perspectives and interpretations.
In 2012, Agung Perdana founded the group JAGUANK. This ethnic music group is based in West Sumatra, Indonesia.
Our group focuses on exploring the Talempong playing style, under the concept of "Awakening of Talempong."
This concept explores the combination of Western and Eastern musical techniques to create a new Talempong playing style that is free from cultural conventions while maintaining its traditional spirit.
